What a thrill to lead CBST’s Tu B'shevat seder on January 21 with Rabbi Rachel Weiss, Musical Director Joyce Rosenzweig, Cantorial Intern Magda Fishman, and Judy Ribnick! Weaving the seder in between sections of the Kabbalat Shabbat and Ma’ariv (Evening) prayer service, we experienced the kabbalistic celebration of Tu B'shevat as a mystical, four-stage journey -- from the physical realm we usually inhabit, through the upper divine realms of the cosmos. Wow!
Meanwhile, Jewish kids around the world are learning that Tu B'shevat is the “New Year for the Trees.” Happy New Year, pine trees! Happy Birthday, palm trees!
