Holidays at CBST

Holidays offer a special time for celebration and connecting as a community at CBST.

Holidays at CBST

The annual High Holiday services at CBST are unique in both size and scope. Through our Open Door fund — created in response to the historic exclusion of gays and lesbians from participating openly in most Jewish communities — CBST provides access to these traditionally costly but important services for free. As a result, thousands celebrate the High Holidays with CBST at Town Hall and the Javits Center in Manhattan.

CBST's High Holy Day services attract thousands. Through our Open Door fund, created in response to the historic exclusion of gays and lesbians from participating openly in most Jewish communities, CBST dispenses with the standard admission fees required to attend these important services. As a result, thousands, including some of the most notable New Yorkers, celebrate the High Holy Days with CBST at our various venues. Many of our members first came to CBST through the Open Door.
